​Mold is almost impossible to avoid onboard. Mold exists with oxygen, temperature and water.  Thriving in damp, humid and wet environments. While often assumed bleach or clorox will kill mold, it does not.

The best product we have found on hard surfaces like the shower and fender balls is the purple bottle of Lysol Mold & Mildew Remover ($4.29 – $9.99) compared to the popular Concrobium Mold Control Mold Inhibitor ($10.99 – $14.99).

Tips

• Damp Rid ($3.98 – $15.99) absorbs water vapor and helps prevent growth.
• Failure to clean will create a food source for mold.
• Fix water intrusion.
• Keep air circulating.
• Keep indoor humidity below 60%.
• Maintain wet areas dry for 24 – 48 hours.
• Raise the bed mattress with the froli system or interlocking rubber grids. 
• Reduce air moisture with air conditioner or dehumidifier.
• Silica gel packs ($16.99) absorb water vapor and help prevent growth.
• Spores are known to be killed with Borax, steam or vinegar.
