Our fresh water tank holds 400 gallons (GRP) onboard. The water hose from the dock to our tank takes a while to fill, so it’s easy to get distracted and overfill (furthermore, it wastes water).
Unlike other boats, we don’t have a direct water feed from the dock to the boat. So we regularly fill it after excessive use, after doing laundry, in long showers, running the dishwasher 2 – 3 daily, and/or washing the vessel.
To our knowledge, there’s no automatic water valve shut-off system; therefore, we are introducing the fuel transfer nozzle (well cleaned and rinsed before use). Our water hose from the dock on one end and this fuel transfer nozzle on the other end. Now, when the tank is full, the water flow just automatically stops, minimizing water waste.
