Man Made & Natural Disaster Resources

The government defines disaster as man made (explosions, fires) or natural (droughts, earthquakes, floods, hurricane, landslides, tornados, volcano eruption) events which impact resources whether local or statewide.

Based on federal and state official assessments, the President may warrant a declaration which makes federal programs available.

The American Red Cross is also a great resource.

As a recreational boater, do be familiar with your insurance carrier’s policy regarding known events such as a hurricane. Failure to comply or prove your efforts may hinder one’s insurance claim.

The resources as noted above are tailored to landlubbers but, maybe a resource or offer a referral for you.
