Not until recently did I learn that you can make your own brown sugar at home with just 2 key ingredients. I don’t use brown sugar often and when I finally do it’s notorious to be hard as brick, even after being stored in a container and ceramic disk.
Ingredients
- 1 Cup White Granulated Sugar
- 1 TBSP Molasses
Instructions
Mix the two ingredients together with an electric mixer or wooden spoon.
Tips
- Cookies as photographed, I just added the two ingredients into the mixing bowl and did not premix them. Taste was not altered.
- For Dark Brown Sugar add 1/2 TBSP until desired color and taste.
- Molasses clumps do form, just press with your wooden spoon along the mixing bowl wall.
- Molasses Substitute: Agave Nectar or Maple Syrup (real).
- Store in an airtight container.
