Comments: Long Wharf’s oldest surviving structure, formerly the John Hancock Counting House built in 1763. Central hub for for merchant empire and shipping prior to the American Revolution (1765 – 1789). Renovated in 1973, diners can still see original features: exposed wooden beams, John Hancock’s original embedded wall safe (2nd Floor).
Requires transportation to access from/to Constitution Marina (Boston, MA). We walked over to the ferry service, F/Y Rita. Travels year-round across the Boston Harbor between the Charlestown Navy Yard and Long Wharf (South) in downtown Boston. Otherwise, the City View Trolley Tours, a hop on/off picks up at Stop#4 and drops off at Stop#1.
