Toothpick Artichoke Hearts

Ingredients:

  • 1 Can (14oz) Artichoke Hearts (drained, pat dry)
  • 1/2 Cup Italian Breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 Cup Parmesan Cheese (grated)
  • Olive Oil
  • 1/8 TSP Black Pepper
  • 1/2 TSP Garlic Powder
  • 1/4 TSP Salt

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 400°F.

Lay parchment paper on baking sheet.

Drain and pat dry the artichoke hearts. Lay on baking sheet and lightly brush/spray with olive oil. Flip and repeat. Set aside.

Mix black pepper, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, parmesan cheese, and salt ingredients together. Gently, coat each artichoke hearts and place back onto parchment lined baking sheet.

Bake for 10 minutes, flip and rebake for 15 minutes until golden brown. Serve warm.

Tips:

  • Add some diced green chillies or jalapeños for slight kick.
  • Artichokes coated should be in a single layer for best baking results.
  • Avoid the hassle and purchase precut quartered artichoke hearts.
  • Breadcrumb substitution is Panko crumbs.
  • Brush or spray the artichokes with olive oil before dipping in cheese mixture.
  • Compliments a charcuterie board.
  • Makes for a great warm appetizer.
  • Substitute and lightly grease baking sheet.
  • Use a creamy mayo base for dipping.
