Marinated Flank Steak Recipe

Onboard we enjoy grilling, perhaps one of our favorites is a marinated flank steak.

Flank Steak Marinade Ingredients:

  • 2 – 3 TBSP Brown Sugar
  • 1 Flank Steak
  • 1/2 Small Fresh Garlic Bulb
  • 1 Small Fresh Onion
  • 1 TBSP Olive Oil
  • Sherry Cooking Wine
  • Soy Sauce

Rinse steak with clean water. Set aside. Add brown sugar, olive oil, and equal half parts of sherry cooking wine and soy sauce in a marinating container. Mix well until brown sugar is dissolved. Place steak in marinating liquid. Slice a small onion and separate rings lying on top of the steak, followed by the fresh garlic. Refrigerate and marinate for 24 – 48 hours. Grill and cook until your preferred doneness.

Tips

  • Baked potato was prepared via the microwave.
  • I have substituted the sherry for other cooking wines.
  • Green stuff is homemade Chimichurri sauce.
  • Low sodium soy sauce works well.
  • Marinade is disposed of afterwards along with the garlic and onions. 
  • Marinade should fully cover the steak.
  • You may add more or less brown sugar as desired.
