• 1/4 Cup Green Onions (Chopped)
  • 1/2 Red Onion (Minced)
  • 1/4 TSP Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 Cup Carrots (Julienned)
  • 1 lb Lean Ground Beef
  • 1 TSP Chili Flakes
  • 1 TSP Salt
  • 2 TSP Fresh Cilantro (Cut)
  • 2 TSP Fresh Ginger (Grated)
  • 2 TSP Sesame Seeds

Cook ground beef over medium heat until browned (fully cooked). Drain any beer liquid. Add flakes, garlic, ginger, onion, pepper and salt. Stir well.

Add carrots, cilantro, onions, seeds and sauce mixture. Stir well. Cook for a few more minutes and remove from heat.

Fill clean lettuce leaves with meat mixture.

Sauce Ingredients

  • 1 TBSP Sesame Oil
  • 2 TBSP Soy Sauce
  • 2 TSP Brown Sugar
  • 2 TSP Lime Juice

Combine sauce ingredients and set aside.

  • Cooked ground beef can last up to 4 days in refrigerator.
  • Cut back the black and chili pepper for less spicy.
  • Ginger kept in the freezer can last up to 5 months. Also makes grating easy.
  • Makes for a light appetizer or lunch meal.
  • Photograph is of iceberg lettuce due to availability. Butter lettuce is tastes best.
  • Unless you’re talented at wrapping, it can be messy. Alternative is to shred your lettuce, top with meat mixture and eat as a salad.
  • You don’t necessarily taste the carrots, at least I don’t think so.
