Our reservation was unplanned as we were anchored along Taylors Creek (Beaufort, NC) overnight. However, with our automated generator starter continuing to act up, we were forced to the docks. Further seeking a local mechanic. Fortunately, for us not only did Homer Smith Docks & Marina have a slip available to accommodate us but, and even provided a local mechanic recommendation, Greg Dennis, Field Service Technician Marine Diesel Engines at Gregory Poole Marine Power.

Comments: On a overnight offshore run from Cape Charles, VA to Beaufort, NC seven hours before our Lookout Bight Anchorage (Beaufort, NC) late night arrival Jacques noticed the alternator wasn’t working properly. Fortunately, we have redundancy onboard but, rather then arrive, sleep, and do another overnight offshore run, he wanted this fixed.
Homer Smith Docks & Marina (Beaufort, NC) was able to accommodate us combined with some needed rest and riding out a cold front pushing through.
So, we contacted the local who helped us out before, Greg Dennis, Field Service Technician Marine Diesel Engines at Gregory Poole Marine Power. After a brief conversation, he information and photos were sent via text. Homer Smith Docks & Marina (Beaufort, NC).
