Departure: Dolphin Marina & Restaurant – Mooring Ball #56 (Harpswell, ME) 9:45AM

Special Comments:

• Departure Day! Our last delivery of homemade blueberry muffins. Actually, freezing them to enjoy in the future.
• We’re ready to push off today, while the view is textbook of Maine, the amount of traffic from 11AM – 8PM wrecks the peacefulness and tranquility the mooring field life has to offer.
• Our departure return slightly off today, as we opted to commute from the flybridge. So, nice and scenic. BURR, bundled in sweatshirts. On three different occasions we noticed a seals head surface. Sadly, they’re camera shy.
• About an hour prior to our arrival we overheard a panpan call to the Harbormaster as a vessel lost engine power. Around here is not the place one wants to loose engine power with all the islands of rocks. A few minutes the Captain requested a cancel.
• As we were approaching Boothbay Harbor it was so charming and scenic.
• Beautiful blue hull Grand Banks neighbor on port side, M/V Elleon. Our starboard neighbors, M/V Villa Bethany.
• The restaurant onsite was closed for Employee Appreciation Day, so we walked over to Boothbay Lobster Wharf (Boothbay Harbor, ME).
• Walmart delivery scheduled.
• Screen doors open. Outside a light jacket is required.

Docked: Carousel Marina (Boothbay Harbor, ME) Dock C

Special Comments:

• WOW, we both slept in until 8AM. That’s rare!
• Extended our stay overnight due to incoming cold front.
• We were going to drop the tender and utilize the complimentary public tender dock to hit the streets but, winds are due to pick up today. So, we’re pivoting towards the complimentary hop on/off Trolley. Which conveniently picks up at the adjacent property.
• Waterfront lunch dining at McSeagull’s Restaurant (Boothbay Harbor, ME).
• Afterwards Jacques was able to stop at the post office, USPS (Boothbay Harbor, ME) to return his broken hearing aids.
• We enjoyed walking around the downtown area, dodging in and out of shops. Found some goodies for the boat and for our belly like locally homemade blueberry jam, Mung Bean (Boothbay Harbor, ME). For future MTOA events we found a Baby Whirligig Sea Turtle at the Cannery (Boothbay Harbor, ME).
• Upon our marina return our 5 packages arrived. One of which included the new Insta 360 Luna Ultra camera, a gift from one of my video critics, that being Jacques. Every night he enjoys reading my FB post and watching the video I have put together, often sightings that he has missed. He has moaned about my phone camera quality.
• He’s loving the screen doors to be open, I on the other hand am freezing.
• We ventured to The Whale’s Tale & Seafarer’s Pub (Boothbay Harbor, ME) for dessert, but the chef didn’t make his two homemade blueberry pies today. So, instead we opted for some chowder. Our first, and it was really good.
• Cold and rainy night.

Docked: Carousel Marina (Boothbay Harbor, ME) Dock C

Special Comments:

• Another cool and rainy day.
• Our bow neighbors departed this morning.
• Took the trolley into town to provision at Hannaford Supermarket (Boothbay Harbor, ME) with a quick lunch at Boothbay Harbor House of Pizza beforehand and of course a scoop of ice cream for him at the Downeast Ice Cream Factory (Boothbay Harbor, ME).
• During our outing, we got a new bow neighbor, M/V Laughing Gull. Two couples onboard a Fleming 55′. Fortunately, their leaving Friday morning as well, otherwise we’re pinned here until their departure.
• Since it was rainy and cold outside we got a jumpstart on our predeparture chores.
• YIKES, last evening was open mic singing at The Whale’s Tale & Seafarer’s Pub (Boothbay Harbor, ME) fortunately tasked with doing laundry onboard but, what we were hearing had us closing the doors (LOL).

Docked: Carousel Marina (Boothbay Harbor, ME) Dock C

Special Comments:

• WOW, eating a homemade breakfast onboard. Something we haven’t enjoyed in a while, such little treats are big things in this nomad lifestyle.
• Laundry continuation today for linens to be washed. Noticing between anchorage or mooring ball that I tend to wash pre and post our linens. Something about not showering everyday is a adjustment. Every other is the maximum.
• Interesting to see a cruise ship on a mooring ball. We both pondered whether they would have the necessary swing room on this breezy day.
• Disheartening to read about a fire at Brunswick Landing Marina (Brunswick, GA) involving a cateraman. Fortunately, nobody was injured but the vessel didn’t have the same fate as it burned and sank. Most impressive was the turn around time that BLM had it removed. According to post, it was near Dock 0 which is always where we have stayed. Scary!
