Departure: Little Hen Island – Seal Bay (Vinalhaven, ME) (N44°05.536′ W68°48.038′) 8:30AM
Special Comments:
- Absolutely gorgeous morning. Water was still, birds flying, and the best water reflection of land that I have seen, even included clouds.
- So disappointed to lift anchor today. One of our favorite anchorage spots.
- OMG, how I’m truly enjoying using the portable DeWalt cleaner. Jacques claims it’s sexy, I reckon that’s the same sexiness I see when he vacuums (LOL).
- Well, no sooner did I finish cleaning the anchor and securing it did we exit Seal Bay anchorage area. When we start going around in circles, I’m asking Jacques what’s he’s doing as were surrounded by pots and rocks. He’s yelling, I have no control. While in semi-auto pilot the compass was going crazy. Suspecting we must have crossed over something copperish causing this. Fortunately, he was able to manually regain control. How ironic, as I had just shared while sipping our morning coffee, that we finally have a grove whether anchoring, docking, and/or mooring.

Departure: Little Hen Island – Seal Bay (Vinalhaven, ME) (N44°05.536′ W68°48.038′) 8:30AM
Special Comments:
- Departure Day!
- Such a scenic cruise!
- Guess, whom we crossed wakes with on approach M/V All Talk II.
- Had the pleasure of meeting the marina owner, Paul. Turns out he used to own a Nordhavn (M/V Havn, N4608). Friendly guy! Also met his wife, Katy. Paul was kind to even bring us our mail delivery packages upon our arrival.
- Did our routine marina arrival chores followed by a long hot shower. Thundering and call for rain showers had us staying close to the marina. Quick bite from the nearby food trucks.
- Enjoyed the Belfast Summer Nights Concert (Belfast, ME) while enjoying the swings overlooking the marina. People watching. So, nice to see multigenerational families and picnic dinners.
- Returning to the vessel, even got to see a small rainbow. What a great day!

Docked: Belfast Marina (Belfast, ME)
Special Comments:
- Breakfast at Spring Street Eatery (Belfast, ME). Not only does the chef and owner, Sharon whip a delicious meal but, she’s also friendly and personable.
- Use of the marina loaner vehicle we set out for several errands: Renys Department Store (recommended, it’s a Maine thing), Glo’s Market, Tractor Supply Co (oil), Ocean State Job Lot (because we’ve never been), and Hannaford Supermarket (necessity).
- Dinner at Nautilus Seafood & Grill (Belfast, ME).
- Enjoyable evening at the home of Paul & Katy sitting by a firepit overlooking the bay roasting marshmellows.
- Our starboard neighbors, went out earlier in the evening and spotted humpback whales nearby. Very promising that we will see them too.

Special Comments:
- We attended the Belfast Market (Belfast, ME) this well. The market area was busy. After Paul N, Owner providing us a private tour yesterday, it was nice to see it open with it’s vendors and patron. Such a great asset not only to the local community but especially to for boaters with variety of can goods, cheeses, meats, prepackaged meals, and more. YUM, got some blueberry wild berries to freeze. Enjoyed Mango Sticky Rice in the dining area while listening to someone playing the piano of classic hits.
- Afterwards, we borrowed the truck and ventured to Hamilton Marine (Belfast, ME). Found more treasures for our diva.
- Noticed a Nordhavn 55, M/V Journey at Safe Harbor Front Street (Belfast, ME). Yelp, without mention we reached out.
- Extended our stay as Monday. 8/17/26 has 5′ – 6′ swells predicted.

Special Comments:
- BURR, cool day!
- Declared chore day onboard: boat washing, interior cleaning, and linen washing was briefly all interrupted to move 110′ this afternoon. Jacques was literally outside washing the boat and both laundry machines were going this morning. Seriously!?!? Well, fortunately my assistance wasn’t required nor offered. Because whenever we dock, I don’t ever expect to move nor touch a line until our departure. It’s my break from cruising! For our landlubbers, it’s like going out to dinner, meal served, and being asked to move tables. Now, the squawk isn’t about the incoming vessel but, rather lack of planning since the space was vacant upon our arrival.
- Exterior washed. Linens all washed. Interior dusted well.

Docked: Belfast Marina (Belfast, ME)
Special Comments:
- Projected rain and 20/+ winds today. Drizzled and not nearly the wind as predicted.
- Laundry machines already spinning before my first cup of coffee. Clothes today. We both have more interior and predeparture chores. In the midst of all that I’ve had a taste for chocolate chip cookies, so I’m baking today too.
- For a nano second, we thought our departure tomorrow may be delayed. Due to a water main leak detected. Turns out the washer was bent. Thank goodness for Jacques find.
