2026 Voyages

Atlantic City, NJ (Overnight Offshore) to Cape Charles, VA

Thursday, October 8, 2026

Departure: Frank S Farley State Marina (Atlantic City, NJ) Slip#E27 10:30AM

Special Comments:

  • Conditions were Alphabet Soup like until we hit the Delaware area around 4:30PM. Thereafter seas calmed down, more importantly by darkness.
  • My right leg was being a bit temperamental requiring elevation. I gave Jacques as much daytime rest as possible and did five hours for him to sleep.
  • Barely any traffic out here.
  • During one of the engine room checks Jacques noticed a oil leak, so he’s been monitoring that hourly. Eventually, detected it’s a hose leak from the oil pump of the transmission to the oil cooler.

(Offshore Overnight Run)

Special Comments:

  • Beautiful sunrise.
  • Around 7:30AM saw one dolphin coming towards us.
  • Jacques measured and added more oil. Followed by making some calls for a new hose.
  • Made us a quick bite, avocado half and yolky egg.
  • Wes B, Diesel Mechanic for willingness to come onboard on such short notice today (12PM). No sooner did he arrive that he removed the hose, and dashing off for a custom fit. Sadly, the local shop didn’t have everything necessary for the repair, so he’s driving to Virginia Beach, VA in the AM.
  • We opted for a quiet dinner onboard in lounge attire.

Saturday, October 10, 2026

Docked: Cape Charles Town Docks (Cape Charles, VA) Slip B11

Special Comments:

  • Wes B, Diesel Mechanic texted to advise Virginia Beach, VA had the hose but, not the metal fitting, so it’s on order and due to arrive on Monday, 10/12/26.
  • Jacques walked over to Mason Avenue Bakery (Cape Charles, VA) for fresh pastries. YUM!
  • Today was the annual Cape Charles Fall Festival & Parade (Cape Charles, VA) from 10AM – 5PM downtown. Festivities opened with the traditional Shriners Parade. Adorable! We also visited the local outdoor artisans and vendor booths. Somehow missed the white boot auction and scarecrow contest.
  • Enjoyed a light early dinner at E&O Pub (Cape Charles, VA).
