Comments: Chartered vessel, S/V Grace Bailey is known to anchor overnight and provide a lobster and steak dinner on the beachy island.

Great exploration for canoes, kayaks, paddle boards, and/or tenders.

Located near the entrance to Winter Harbor on the eastern shore of Vinalhaven, ME (East Penobscot Bay). Also, near Seal Bay.

Shortly upon our arrival, I began experiencing coughing, difficulty breathing, and itchy eyes. Researching appeared to be medium to high level of pollen. Normally, I don’t have such allergies but, it’s common for the area in July. Did feel some relief several hours later, but, we kept our downstairs cabin windows closed to best ensure a good night of sleep.

This anchorage was intended to for a few nights, however in attempting to drop the tender, the line got jammed in the boom. Unable to repair it, we were forced to throttle forward for repair.

Watch out for outer rocks to starboard upon entering Winter Harbor.
