Comments: Along the Sassafras River there are several marinas and few dining venues (boat and tender accessible):

Betterton Beach, located right at the mouth of the river, is a popular, family-friendly public beach with panoramic views where the river meets the bay.

For many years, we have anchored along the Sassafras River. During the week there’s minimal traffic, weekends can be busy with boat traffic.

Holidays and weekends are prone to the nearby beach.

Tender/transient docking at the Betterton Town Dock, located right next to the public beach. Because Betterton is a small, quiet community, there are only two active restaurants in the entire town, but both are an easy walk from the public pier:
