From the first call, you’re assigned a Service Manager who knows your boat and coordinates the work, the moorings, and the haul-and-launch as necessary.

On Tuesday, 7/28/26 shortly after our arrival, Keenan H came onboard to scope the work request. During conversation, he verbally estimated the project as an easy, onsite repair at Dysarts Great Harbor Marina (Southwest Harbor, ME) using a ladder, with a total cost between $1,500 – $2,000, not to exceed $2,000. However, the written quote was $2,710.00 higher than the maximum verbal estimate. While a minor variance is understandable, a discrepancy of this magnitude raises concerns regarding the technical scope and operational consistency of the estimate.

Our stay was extended at Dysarts Great Harbor Marina (Southwest Harbor, ME) based on conversation and verbal quote discussed on Tuesday, 7/28/26. By Thursday, 7/30/26 we hadn’t received the quote and had to follow up accordingly.

The written Quote was more than double than what was verbally quoted.

We arrived on Tuesday, 7/28/26 at Dysarts Great Harbor Marina (Southwest Harbor, ME) with a broken boom/wench which meant the tender could not be lowered or lifted. They were most flexible and accommodating on such short notice. While we realized this to be a easy fix. We didn’t realize it required us to be hauled out and their earliest availability was a week out. On the bright side a 7AM haul out combined with same day repair and resplash.

Written Quote reflected $1,500 for a haul out and splash!!! In ALL of our years of owning the vessel and along the East Coast, we have never paid such high fee!

Recommend: No

Our low star rating reflects our personal quote experience. In professional sales, a significant gap between verbal and a written proposal undermines the two pillars of any business relationships: integrity and competence.
