The project was essential to restore full-service operations after the marina was devastated by Hurricane Matthew in 2016

Marina access via the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) to 521.5MM and turning south into Parrot Creek. Keep red markers on right, then turn right into the Morgan River at Marker #6.

Marina completed its extensive multi-year renovation (approximately $2.87 million) in phases during 2020, following the community’s purchase of the property in early 2019, restoring it’s full-service operations after the devastation by Hurricane Matthew (2016). Recognized as a “Preferred Destination” by the Waterway Guide.

Morgan River, SC is a fantastic stop cruising between Charleston, SC and Hilton Head, SC.

Morgan River Grill serves lunch and dinner, open from 11AM – 9PM. Reservations are highly recommended for dinner as transient dockage space is limited. Offers live music on select nights.

Shopping on St Helena Island is not directly accessible by tender because shopping is located inland along the Sea Island Parkway in the Frogmore area. Shopping on St Helena Island is defined by charming antique markets, art galleries, fresh farm stands, and local art galleries rather than large commercial centers. Vehicle required.

“The Outpost”, coffee shop and cafe is no longer open, dining replaced by Morgan River Grill. The former convenience store needs are not available at the current Ship’s Store selling mugs and t-shirts.

Tidal range is known to be 7′ and strong currents, roughly 2kn.
