2026 Voyages

Lewes, DE to Atlantic City, NJ

Wednesday, June 10, 2026

Departure: Delaware Breakwater East End Lighthouse Anchorage, N38°47.751′ W 75°06.238′ (Lewes, DE) 6:15AM

Special Comments:

  • As responsible operators, we never take any medication the night before departure or while underway that can alter our minds. Periodically, an ole abdominal incision itches like a dickens. After watching the big hand spin around the clock, I finally buckled and took to Benadryl pills for some relief. Captain Jacques aware, and given we were at anchorage said, in the morning stay in bed, I can handle our departure myself. Well, 6AM came early. I’ll give him a A+ for trying to be quiet but, to a light sleeper like myself, any sound, sounds like a bull running through a China shop. As I laid there, I battled with guilt of laying in bed, familiar with every action of sound. I stayed, laying like a star fish determined to fall back asleep as he zig zagged from anchorage to the open water. Soon thereafter, the engine throttled back, had me most curious what was happening. A passing barge and wake. For those few minutes, I laid in bed it was heartwarming to reflect upon, being blessed with such a husband and living this lifestyle together.
  • While in route Jacques catches up with his long time friend, Dan L (Ocean City, NJ). We learned over the past week four people died in the area on the water and one body is still missing (20 Year Old Male Drowns). Heart wrenching, our prayers to the family and friends.
  • Roughly 30 minutes to the inlet and the stabilizers are working hard as we gently slide from beam to beam and bow to stern. I really hate that slip and slide effect, always feels like we’re one second of being in control to not being.
  • Upon our Atlantic City approach, we spotted another Nordy anchored at Rum Point Basin area.
  • WOW, small world as also on Dock F are Alison & Robert S (M/V Cygnus). We had the pleasure of meeting up with them over Happy Hour at Chart House (Atlantic City, NJ).
  • Right off of our bow are the former owners of our vessel, IIyas & Zuby R (M/V Rehmat, N5509). Whom we had the pleasure of meeting and chatting over dinner, Michael Patrick’s Brasserie (Atlantic City, NJ).

Docked: Frank S Farley State Marina (Atlantic City, NJ) Slip E23

Special Comments:

  • Alison & Robert S (M/V Cygnus) left F dock this morning. WONK, wonk! Happy 43rd Wedding Anniversary!
  • Had a virtual appointment with our PCP following our thorough physical exam (5/28/26) and blood work. Well, even though Jacques lost 30 lbs his lab results were bad while mine were all good. At one point, suspecting the lab made a error aware we’re both retired and suspect we eat the same things. So, all the extra snacks and stuff he eats is going to be cut out of his diet! The hatchet has fallen, his face was so long like taking a diabetic kid to a candy store and being told no candy for you! So, if he doesn’t have the will I’ll be the determination. Poor guy!

Docked: Frank S Farley State Marina (Atlantic City, NJ) Slip E23

Special Comments:

  • Both (port and starboard) our neighbors left early this morning. Gosh, didn’t hear a thing, not even thrusters if they used them.
  • WOW, for all the slips vacated this early this morning, newcomers have arrived. So many Looper boats.
  • Lovely call this morning from Zuby R (M/V Rehmat, N5509) inviting us to dinner this evening (6PM) at the Chairman’s Club at the Golden Nugget Atlantic City. While we have walked the casino, we never noticed this venue, later we realized it’s for Elite/VIP. Absolutely wonderful time! Fantastic of them sharing a article written about them and their then N4701, The Family that Nordhavn Together in a Nordhavn publication, 2003 Edition. That sparked the thought of reaching out to the Nordhavn Marketing Representative, Amy Z to see if we could obtain a copy for the vessel along with any other publication.
  • YIPPEE, tomorrow morning I’ll be lovin’ on a 6 month ole baby boy as the Hance Family visit (from Cape May, NJ). Can’t wait!

Next Stop: Block Island, RI (Monday, 6/15/26)
