Departure: Lyman-Morse Camden, ME Mooring Ball#62 9AM
Special Comments:
- Departure Day!
- Absolutely, a beautiful and scenic cruise! So much so, that I spent the entire time on the bow just feasting the views and sipping coffee.
- OMG, shortly after anchoring I began experiencing symptoms of coughing, difficulty breathing, itchy eyes, and phlegm. Apparently, classic symptoms around Little Hen Island Anchorage, heavily driven by high grass pollen counts and elevated marine airborne particulate matter (PM2.5) common here in late July. In hopes of surviving bedtime, doors and windows downstairs will remain closed. The combination of mid-summer seasonal allergens and coastal environmental factors triggering an allergic asthma and upper respiratory inflammation! Pleased to have a inhaler (one of the what if prescribed by our PCP) and Benadryl onboard.
- Just as we were preparing to drop the tender to explore a tall ship comes in and anchors off our starboard. At which time the crane gets jammed, so Jacques had to manually drop the boom. Unable to repair it after his brut demeanor, now we’re throttling forward tomorrow because we’re unable to drop or lift the tender. So, what should have been several nights and days exploring, is now a overnight stay. Meanwhile, someone from the tall ship tenders over and invites us over to the adjacent island for steak and fresh lobster. Respectfully, declined (tension onboard too high for any socialization or meal).
